Missed a day. Yesterday I taught a class in Nagoya, but moved to Tayakama last night. Unfortunately there was no internet in the room so I missed a day. The Nagoya class was small. I was suppose to have 12 and only had 7. Quiet group, but very sweet. About half the women need help to learn the split chain and also on the lock stitch chain. Other than that most can do the pattern pretty well. One lady from the group brought a few of her shuttles, some were gorgeous ivory and mother of pearl shuttles that she had a local artisan make. One was an old clover I had never seen before. It was a japanese copy of the english Milward shuttle, but with a point. I thought that was pretty cool. The same tatter tatted this cool collar-like jabot. Love her style, very victorian.

  1. Wow, that is certainly a lot like the old Milward shuttles but with a pick. I've never seen one like that before. IF you ever find out where the lady got it from I'd love to know.

  2. Hi Heidi,
    I've got one similar to this (has the same point and white bit in the middle), but the sticker has fallen out. Have been told it's an old clover, and that there used to be red ones, but my black one and your red one are the only ones I've seen. Thanks for sharing!
    Cas. =)
    PS my shuttle pics are on my old site, not the blog. Look under "honeymoon shuttles".
