October in Japan

Well I finally made it. It's been a whirlwind first 24 hours. Arrived 4:30 Japan time yesterday. I was met graciously by Mrs. Oosuki. Before we left the airport we had to send one piece of luggage ahead and exchange a voucher for a rail pass. From there it was an hour and half rail ride to Tokyo where my host reserved seats on the trains for the reminder of the trip. By the time I got to bed it was 10 pm in Japan and 5 am California time, way passed my bed time. We had to get up at 5 am to take 4 hour train ride to Akita for my first workshop. Everything went well and it was a lot of fun. Then it was another 4 hour rail ride back to Tokyo for another two days of workshops in a row. I'm bushed and I just got started.
